(Received June 3, at 10.55 a.m. The Methodist Conference carried Mr Carruthers's amendment to Dr Morley's motion dealing with supernumerary funds by 87 votes to 79. Dr Morley's motion was that an actuarial basis be maintained for the whole supernumerary fund, "and Mr Carruthers's amendment that the ministers''branch of the fund bo, administered on actuarial principles and that the auxiliary, branch be administered on a non-actuarial basis. , (Received Juno 4, at 1.3 a.m.) The Methodist Conference considered the report of the commissioners sent to Fiji to inquire into missions there. The report recommended that a large .educational town bo established on a site already secured. Dr Brown, general secretary of the mission, suggested that in order to extend the work a native minister and a native chief of high rank be deputed to tour Australasia and endeavour to raise £10,000.
