FIRE ON A STEAMER, MELBOURNE, June 3. (Received June 3, at 10.55 a.m.) While the steamer Wakool, outward bound to itho Cape, was between the heads and Cape Otway, fire was discovered in No. 1 hold.. The vessel returned to Hobson Bay, and the brigade extinguished the fire. The damage is unknown. Tho vessel had 7000 carcases of mutton aboard. The fire .is supposed to havo been caused through fusion of the electric light wire in the hold.
