The second annual cross-country race between the Dunedin and Invercargill Harriers was held yesterday afternoon on a cross-country course laid oh" south of tho Cliffs, above St. Clair. Burk ran well, and negotiated the somewhat difficult fences with a good deal of judgment, and was not really troubled, although Williams on several 'occasions appeared to be a dangerous opponent. THE SMOKE CONCERT. In the evening the visitors were entertained at a smoke concert in the Carlton Rooms by the Otago Centre N.Z.A.A.A. A, very pleasant evening was spent. A number of other toasts were honoured. Songs wore given by Messrs Shand, Campbell. A. (i. Leech, H. Murray, A. Melville, W. Williams, V. Jngnin. Don.
