An action was commenced to-day m which William Cook, of Lyttelton, the owner of tlio Jessie Niccol (the schooner which was run down in Wellington Harbour by the Rotomahana), claims £1532 damages from the Union Steam Ship Company for alleged negk-ct of their servants. Defendants con-tc-ixl that the neglect was on the part of the captain of the Jessie Niccol. Owing lo the sudden indisposition of Mr Justice Cooper, tlio hearing of Ihe case, was not I'oswncd iB the afternoon.
