" Inquirer."—So far as cr.n be ascertained the " chain letter" in aid of Dr Bamardo's Homes was genuine. II was started some considerable time ago. The promoter evidently had no idea of llio number of replies that would be received if tho chain was unbroken, and it is stated that notifications were published in sonic English papers requesting that those who received letters after that date should not reply to thorn. Originally intended for circulation in England, the " chain letter" appears to have invaded every portion of the British. Empire.
