This is very much' under tho real figures, which at 31st March last- (the end of the Admiralty year) were:—First class, 59—viz., 2 ships purchased from Chili, 8 Formidables, 6 Duncans, 6 Campuses, 1 Renown, 9 Majesties, 8 Koyal Sovereigns, 2 Centurions, 2 Niles, 1 Sans Parpil, 6 Admirals; total, 51—and 8 King lOdward YH's building (3 promised for this year); second' class, 12 ships; third class, 11 ships; coast defence, 16 ships.
