OCEAN BEACH DOMAIN BOARD.
The ordinary meeting cf the Ocean Beach Domain Board was held in the Town Hall last evening, and was attended by Messrs J. H. Hancock" (chairman),, H. Crust, D. Stirling, and I. Greon.
The Clerk reported that the bank book ehowed a credit balnuco of £177 14s lid.
Accounts amounting to £32 19s were passed for payment.
A. G. Fenwick wrote drawing attention to an intolerable nuisance that had existed at St. Clair for some time in the shape of a pack of dogs which congregated on tho beach to tho annoyance of everyone. The dogs were a source of danger, and women were considerably frightened by them.— J. J. Kingston wrote in connection with tho same matter, stating that at least six dogs, apparently belonging to nobody, were tearing about on tho beach, barking and yelping, to tho terror of moet women and children and to tho discomfort of everyone. The writer stated that on one occasion when he was on the beach with his wifo the dogs were yelping round him, and when ho was endeavouring to got- rid of them one bit him in tho log, though not severely.—Tho Chairman stated that ho had several times boon afraid that- the dogs would null him off his bicycle.—After discussion, it was . resolved—" That tho loeal constable and L. Edwards (the board's ranger) be authorised and empowered to take charge of and destroy all unregistered dogs found at largo on tho Ocean Beach Domain, a notification to that effect to he advertised."
The Clerk intimated that the members of tho board to retire, this 3-ear wero: Messrs H. ■' Crust, D. Stirling, and F, Anderson.
