GOOD TEMPLARY.
Tho Pioneer Lodge, No. 2, 1.0. G.T., celebrated their thirty-first anniversary in the Choral Hall Irs! night. Bro. D. Gain, C.T., presided, and there wa3 a large attendance of members and others. The interior of the hall was hung about with tho banners of tho order, and these, together with the. regalia "worn by tho Good Templars, gavo a bright appcarance to tho gathering. A good musical programme was submitted, the following being the items:— Ovorture, Messrs A. Beisscl and Scott; songs, "Tho river of years" (Miss li. Croft) and " Down in tho deep " (Mr A. Pitt); recitation, "Jim's Story," Ero. Mills; songs," "Pilgrim's prayor" (Sis. B. Gunn) and "Flight of ages" (Bro. E. Hutton); piano solo, Sir Hutton; songs, "Tell me" (gister Orr) and "Whisper and I shall hoar" (Bro. Croilv); recitation, Sis. Lena South; songs, "Oh! how delightful 1 ' (Miss Stewart) and " Out on tho doen"' (Bro. Beisscl). During the evening short addresses of a helpful and encouraging nature were given by the Rev. W. A. Sinclair and Mr A. S. Adams. At an interval refreshments were dispensed by the ladies, and were much appreciated. A vote of thanks was passed to the performers and the accompanists (Miss A. V. Gain, Mr A. Bcissel, and Mr Hutton). On tho motion of Bro. D. C. Cameron, Bro. R. Sandilands, on behalf of the visitors, also made a few remarks, Apologies were read for the unavoidable absence of Bio. Gregg, the founder of the lodge, and ilr J. A. D. Adams.
