THE CLUTHA FLOODS RELIEF FUND.

The present position of the Clutlia Floods i Relief. Fund, of which so much was said in the House of Representatives on Monday night, will be seen from the attached statement of tho receipts and expenditure in connection with the fund to the 24th September last:— RECEIPTS. ment of what thor wore advised woro all the claims in connection with the floods was under £500, on which they have received interest as above; and they have paid additional claims from the Clutha to the amount, of £283 12s Id and hayo transferred to tho Wairaraoa Wreck Relief Fund £500 and to the Otago Contingent Fund £250, besides making sundry snmll disbursements. The payment to the Waimato Relief Fund was authorised by a meeting of the General Committee. The amount now in hand, it will be seen, is £233 Is Id.
