OIAGO GYMNASTIC ASSOCIATION.
Tho championship competition of the Otago Gymnastic 'Association was held in tho Duncdin Gymnastic Ciub's Gymnasium last night before a small audience. Only three competitors fneed tho judge—viz., E. Baber, H. G. Sicdebcrg, and W. 11. Matthews. A certain amount of interest was taken from tho competition through five of tho Mornington Olub withdrawing from it.' The exercises were voluntaries on the horizontal and parallel bars cud rings, and a distance climb on tho ropes. Some capital work was executed, especially by W. H. Matthews, who performed exceedingly well. H. G. Siedeberg was not seer, at his best, and I?. Baber performed very creditably. The judging was iu the capable hands of Instructor T. Fergusson. The following are the detailed scores Baber (George Street Gymnasium Club)—horizontal bar 13, parallel bars 11, rings 9, ropes 7; total, 40.' H. G. Siedeberg (Uuncdin Gymnasium Club)—horizontal bar 12, parallel bars 14}, rings 13, ropes 7}; total, 47. W. H. Matthews (Dunedin Gymnastic Club)—horizontal bar IS, parallel bars ISi, rings 15J, ropes 4; total 50.
