The weather was foggy, with an absolute calm, and the race between tho Shamrock 111 and the Reliance was postponed in the hope of a better wind. (Received Sept. 3, at 10.31 a.m.) Sir'T. Lipton i$ disturbed at the delay?, bis presence being required in England in connection with his business. The crew are also disheartened, owing to their inability to finish tho races. They bavo lost much of their smartness and vigour. (Received Sept. 3, at 11.12 p.m.) Tho race was eventually postponed for tho day.
(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 3. The Now York Yacht Club cables that the yachts loft for the starting lino, but thero was practically no chanco of a racc, and later the race was declared off.'
