During the course of some remarks as to a question of adjournment at the Supreme Court Mr Justice Conolly said lie was not particular as to the hours he sat, and it wast only recently that he had been abused liy the press for sitting on a case in Now Plymouth till half-past 18 at night. His Honor also said that he- had been angry at a statement made by a southern paper to the effect that owing to his being unable to attend to his work other judges had to do it-for hfnh It was quite untrue, as ho had nover been absent- from work for a. single day. " I will not .have it supposed for a moment," added his Honor, "that I am asking for indulgence, as I am not doing so."
