OTAGO PHARMACEUTICAL ASOCIATION.

o The fifth annual meeting of the'Otngo Pharmaceutical Association wes held in the association's rooms last evening, when there was a fair attendance of members.. Mr T» W. Kemptliorno presided. In moving the adoption; of the committee's report (previously published) the President said that during the period the association had been in existence it had been most assiduous in its work, and had produced excellent results. It had worked hand-in-hand with kindred societies all along the line, to the benefit of the whole body. He hoped tiafc tho incoming .committee would take up the work where the old committee left off and! get the question of the Poisons Act and other matters it had in hand! carried to,a successful conclusion. ' ..,''• Tho report and the balance sheet (whioh showed a credit balance of £W 8s) were adopted. Tho President stated that lie had noyf held that position for five years. Last year ho had consented to take up another term of office, but he thought that the time had arrived when there should .be a change. He wished to tender his resignation, and! ad the some time thank tho members of. the association, and also the committee, for the excellent way in which they had supported him throughout. Several gentlemen eulogised the services rendered by Mr Kemptliorno during; !his lengthy term of -office, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring- president. The following officers wero then elected' for■ the ensuing year:—President, Mr W. Wardrop; vice-presidents—Messrs Thomas iTohnetone and J. J. Hoskiris (Invereargill); pocretary, Mr J. R. Bceson; lion, treasurer, Mr E, A. Ewimr; auditor, Mr T. W. Kempthorne; committee—Messrs D. ' White, W. F,lder, H. Hotop. Alex. Bagley, J. P, Thomson, and E. O. Woodward. Mr .Tohnstone moved—" That subscriptions of members who now pay 20s per annum bereduced to 10s, owing to the Sew Zealand Pharmacy Board being.enabled to collect an annual membership fee of 10s from all chemists on the repster."—The motion was seconded by Mr Waidrop and carried. ,• . . The question of procuring cheaper rooms for the association and the consideration of the annual dinner wns left for the incoming committee to deal with. . • After a vote of ..thankfijo the seoretary and to the treasurer had 'been passed the meeting adjourned.
