— 11. Maiche, a French inventor, has made some experiments with wireless telephony in the forest of St. Germain. The transmitter was placed on' the top of a house, but connected to the ground in the manner of a lightning rod. A thousand yards distant two iron poles 90ft apart were connected together by wire and had a telephone receiver in circuit. Sounds from tho transmitter were plainly heard in it. Recoivors off tho lino of transmission do not catch the message. —La Guaira, which has been mentioned in the telegrams from Venezuela, is one of tho claimants to the distinction of being the hottest place on earth. Day and night, wiutcrond summer, tho thermometer is said to register lOOdcg in the shade. Change of Water often brings on djjir- : rhoea. For this reason many experienced travellers carry a bottle of Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera, and Diarrhoea Remedy with them, to be used in case of an emergency. This preparation has no equal p.s a cure for bowel complaints. It cannot be obtained while on board tho cars or steamship, and that is where it is most likely to be needed. Buy a bottle before leaving j home. All dealers sell it. .
