LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
(Pkr United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Maroh 9. Tlie Premier arrived from tho north tonight. Ho was interviewed by representative deputations of Canterbury members, the Social Church, and tho Trades and Labour Council with regard to land settlement in Canterbury. The Trades and Labour Council complained of the sale of Crown lands in tho colony. Tho Premier referred to the purchaeo of tho Higlifiekl estate, and promised to shortly visit tho Peninsula to ■' soo .if there was any land available there.
