SIR C, GAVAN DUFFY'S FUNERAL
A STRIKING DEMONSTRATION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, March 9. Sir C. Gava'n Duffy's funeral was a. striking demonstration* The streets were full of sympathetic spectators. Tho procession was a mile and a-half in length, and included representatives of the corporations of Dublin, Cork, and Drogheda, delegates from most of tho public bodies in Ireland (especially from Monoglmn), representatives of literature and politics, trade societies, Foresters, and nthlotic clubs. Tho Lord Mayor of Dublin and councillors v/crc present in their robes of office, Messrs Esmonde, Dillon, T. Ilealy, and several other members of the House of Commons were also present. Major Dobbyn represented Victoria. Dean Hegarty, Mr Davitt, and a large number of clergy were present. Tho Archbishop sent a carriago, as he was unable to attend personally. Two thousand members of the Catholic Boys' Brigade headed tho procession. Two daughters and three of Sir C. G. Duffy's sons were present. Tho officcs of tho United Irish League were draped. A number of wreaths were sent, including a magnificent one by the Memorial Committee.
