Tho monthly competition for tho St. Andrew's cross took piano at Balmaccwan on Saturday under tho most favourable conditions. There was a largo number of competitors, and the play, judging by the cards handed ill, was much abovo the average. Mr S. K. Sleigh won tho gold crosa with the excellent score of 2 lip on "Colonel, Bogey,'' ami Mr J. A. Burt won tho sliver cross with 2 down. Tho following aro a few of the best scores;—S. It. Sleigh, 2 up; P. L. Biss, 1 down; G-. H. MacEwan, 1 down; H. A. Saimou, 1 down; C. Turnbull, 1 down; W. H, Youug, 1 down; J. A. Burt, 2 down; T. (rilray, 2 down; C. Iloldsworth, 2 down; D. Meldrnm, 2 down; J. Gow, 0 down; A. Holmes, 3 down; P. Lcitcli, 3 down.
