BANKING MATTERS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sin,—l was very pleased to see your local in this morning's Times on waiting 'at- the Savings Bank, and am only sorry that tlia member of your staff did not visit a few of tlic other banks at the same time. The one I would refer more particularly to is tho Isanb of New Zealand, where of late they have been employing four tellers to do the work of at least six—that is, as far as the publio are concerned. It is not an uncommon occurrence for a person to stand 1 afc any of these four counters for at least half an hour during the busy times of tlic day, and this means a considerable loss of time To those who bank daily. I have often wonj dcred that business men who do their own banking have not been more omphalic in their complaints on this score. Hoping ero long to see some improvement,—l am, etc.. Oxe Wno Has to Wait Dunedin, March 4.
