SOCIAL AND PRESENTATION.
A farewell social was tendered in (lie Abbotsford Primitive Methodist Church on Monday evening to tho Rev. J. Southern by the congregation and friends on his severing his connection with theiu to tako up Gospel work in the Inglewood district. Tho Rcy.'Mr Guy presided, and, on behalf of tho congregation, presented Mr Southern with a silver-mounted inkstand as a token of the good feeling which had always existed sincc he had been amongst them. Mr Guy also testified to the worth of Mr Southern as a co-worker in the church, and wished him every success at Inglewood.. Mr Southern suitably responded. Mr Bcriy, as a member of tho congregation, paid a tribute to Mr Southern as a worker. During the evening a number of anthems, quartets, solos, and reci- ; tations were rendered by the choir and members of the congregation. Refreshments wero provided. Mr J. Sharp acted as conductor, and Miss E. Hill presided at the organ. Tho pronouncing of tho benediction by Mr Guy brought an cnjoyablo evening to a close.
