A MAORI CARNIVAL.

The Kaikorai Orchestral Society intend hold- I ing a Maori carnival, which will be opened by the Mayor of Eoslyn (Mr T. Mackenzie, M.H.R.) , on Tuesday evening, March 10, and will continue . throughout the week. The society is making 1 elaboralo efforts to ensure success, and is bringing Maori? from Moeraki, Puketeraki, Otakou, etc., to give hakas and war dances by Ngaitahii warriors and waiatas and poi | dances by Maori maid As. Other amusements '■ of a varied nature will be provided. Some 50 ladies have been busy for tho last five months making up all kinds of fancy and useful articles for the various stalls, and nothing will be left undone to' make the carnival and bazaar a . success.
