CORRESPONDENCE CONDENSED.
Alex. S. Adame leplies to "Sincerity," and says tint "this anonymous scribbler ovidently writes with malice." "Mr Isitt is a gentleman, and one of tho finest awl hardest workers in the temperanco tody in this colony. He spends more hours at his work than most, and gave up a leading position in his chiirch to. fake the secretaryship of tho New Zealand Allianco, at a salary much less than his stipend. He travels a good deal, it is' true, and those who know what that means in loss of homo comforts, etc., will not envy him. He has no 'occasional outings to Australia and England,' as ' Sincerity \ states. It is strango that Mr Isitt's Statement about publicans should surprise anybody. I'rohimtionibte do not casl the wholo blame for the deplorable evils ot tho liquor traffic on the unfortunate publican. The company and trust promoters may do that, hut wo recognise that • alcoholic liquors will intoxicate oven whore a bishop is the-seller,, and that .tho eravo for drink drives'its victim on! We do not call tho liquor sellers a curse, hut the liquor itself. Is that clear, onough? I would not have troubled to writo had not my friend been •meanly"attacked iir.his absence."-'.
