MELBOURNE, October 13. (Received Oct. 13, at 9.50 a.m.) A pleasure boat capsized in the Yarra, when a girl named Perriman and a youth were drowned. A fishing boat which foundered in Hobsou Bay has been found, but there is no trace of the bodies of the three men who were aboard. (Per United Pbess Association.) AUCKLAND, October 13. diaries Dawson, hairclrcHser, a married man, was drowned yesterday owing to overbalancing himself from a steamer.
BLENHEIM, October 13. Some sensation was caused in town by a report from Picfon that two men had been drowned in Queen Charlotte Sound. Many versions of the supposed fatality are current, and authentic news is not available. The real facts, so far as can be ascertained, are: Two young men—Donald and Nelson,—both unmarried, left Picton in a boat two or three weeks ago for a sawmill down the sound, and have not been heard of since. Rough weather prevailed after their departure, and it ia feared they came to grief. On the top of this supposed fatality comee a, report that anxiety is felt as to the safety of three other men who left Picton on a small steamer some days ago for the Heads on a fishing avpedition, and , have nc'b been heard of since.
ASHBURTON, 'October 13. The 14-months-old child of Mr George Brown, of Hampetead, .was found drowned this morning in a tub of water at the residence of a neighbour, John Parker. It is not known how the accident happened. TIMARU, October 13. Thomas Dennison, an old-age pensioner at Burke's Pass, was accidentaly thrown from a trap on Saturday and killed. A man named Allan M'Cracken was working at a stack of timber yesterday when some of. it fell upon him, breaking one of his legs. He was conveyed to the Hospital.
