THE RECENT RAINS. Prtss Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, September 2. (Received Sept. 2, at 9.48 a.m.) The weather is clearing. The rain has beeu general all over the State. There were soaking falls in the liorthiii and central districts, but elsewhere they were mostly light. Twelve inches fell in the Wagga district, doing considerable damage. BRISBANE, September 2. Good rains have fallen in the southern half of the State.
