OTAGO RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION. Tfie weekly committee meeting, held lash evening, was attended by Messrs Hutchison, (president), Maedonald, Hanlon, Campbell,' Roes, Harris, Munro, and Smith. A letter was received from tho Lawrence' Star Olub asking if the committee would allow anything towards the expense of sending a team to take part in tlio seven α-side tournament.—lt was decided that the re- T quest could not be granted. The application of the Dunedin Club to have remitted tho fine imposed ,on bheir third-grade team for defaulting in the Zingari third-grade team was refused. ' Tho president of the Otago Bowing Association wrote asking the committee if they could set aside a day for the purpose of holding a match in aid of the funds-of the afssociatioii.—lt was decided that owing to all the dates being taken up this season, the committee could not. grant the request, ■• but would favourably consider the matter if , brbiight before-them next season. AGAINST COUNTY TEAMS. Tlio following teams have been selected to play against the County tftams on Saturday.. Against Vincent County:—Miller, Chambers. Adams, Teesdale, S. Watson, M'Laren, B. WatSon, B. Spiere, Foster, Slunrp, Dunne Brown, Corson, Taylor, M'Keweh. Against Maniototo County:—Fairolough, ■ ftfKay, Smith, Gilray, Collie, Dey, Uttley, Phillips, Bond, W. Mitchell, Abbott, Connell, Hobbs, W. Mason, George. ' ' v Any of the above players who are enable to play are requested to notify the hon, eeerettiry not later than Thursday motning. 1 he players selected to play against yincenfc County are requested to provide • themselves with dark.blue jerseys.! „ ' Tho watchmakers and jewellers held their second annual football match at Biahopseourt on Wednesday last, the gam© being very even throughout. Shortly after the start a mark wati obtained by MacKonzie, v/hich Bryan enhanced. This being the only score the Jewellers won by 4 points. Good play at times was seen on both sides; Towards the olofto the Watchmakers kept therf opponents near the twenty-five for V long time, and muet have scored but for the sterling play of two substitutes: The committee have to thank the Rugby Union foivthe use of the ground, also Mr Alexander for. officiating as referee. A Wellington telegram states thnt Christ's and Wellington College Old Boys played' their annual football match there yesterday. The Wellington players were, much , better than their opponents, winning by 16 to 3,' after having had the beet of the game all :.throaii»h,- Flower, Who Was the backbone of thirChnstchurch Old Boys, scored a try. ' Wigley, Ollivier, and Blunden atso played ,woll, but the forwards generally lacked any approach to combination.
