MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The fortnightly ineoting ot Court Enterprise, A.0.V., presided over by C.R. Bro. J. I?. Wilson, was largely attended by members and visiting brothers. Two candidates were initiated. The formal business of the court having been concluded, an interesting paper on "The Doings of an Eighth Contingent Trooper " was read. This was followed by a programme of instrumental and social items, in which .the efforts of the following were much appreciated:—Bros. Hogg, Bauchop, White, and Hudson. It was announced by the chief singer, who received a vote of thanks for his exertions in popularising the court, that a lecture would be given next court night by Dr Stephenson., The response to tile vote to the visitors was made by Bios, Bridges, Hutcliins, Benfell, and Haig. The usual monthly mooting of the Loyal Orange Lodge, No. 30, was held in the Howe Street Hall on Wednesday night, when there was a large attendance of members : antl visitors. The W.M. Bro. Lillyshort presided. After the usual business the election of officers for the ensuing 12 months resulted as follows: W.M., Bro. Thomas Brown; D.M., Bro. S Little: W.S., Bro. 11. Escott; W. Chaplain' Bro. 11. Rogers; W. Treasurer, Bro. R. Crawford; Senior F. 0., Bro. R, Kennv; Deacons, Bro. R. Crawford, jtm., and Bro. D. Hughes--1.e., Bro. T. Shanks. A hearty vote of thanks to the visitors was responded to bv S.G.C. Bro. Beresford, No. 12. L.0.L., Bro. *Slraw, W.m! of No. 21, Tj.O.T.-., Bro. Thomai, of Queensland, and Bro. Grey, P.G.M. of No. 3-1, L.O.L.
