MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

■Court Enterprise, A.0.F., held their fort, nightly meeting on Tuesday night, C.R. Bro. J, R. AViison presiding. The formal business of the court was expedited in order to admit of the holding of a progressive euchre tournament winch had been promoted by the Chief Ranger. A number of members and visitors took part in the contest, which resulted in Bro. \V. Jollv securing first prize, Bro. A. Paine the second and Bro. W. Bridger the booby prize. The toast of," Visiting Brothers" was responded to by Bro, Bridgcr (Court Excelsior), and Bro. Paterson (Court Pride of Duncdin). The usual meeting of the Cargill Road Literary and Debating Society was held in tho lecture hall at tho rear of Wesley Church on Wednesday evening. Mr W. Earnshaw occupied the chair, and there was a. splendid attendance, Mr C. H. Lowden gave an evenin" with " Phrenology," showing pictures and diaf rams representing the different temperaments rhe lecturer handled his subject in a very masterly manner, and at the conclusion gavo a few practical illustrations of Mr Lowden received a hearty voto of thanks, and a verse of the National Authem brought the meeting to a close. •
