PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The' usual 'monthly meeting ot the Peninsula Hoad Board was held at the board's - office, Highelift, on Saturday, when there were present Messrs Koss (chairman), Walker, M'Curdy, Fairbairn, Uiddell, and Gunn. It was ileciiled to invite tenders lor the carting ot about 250 yds of crushed metal, irom Mr Shiel's quarry, to be laid down between Musselburgh and Anderson's Bay Presbyterian Church. Mr M'Curdy was authorised to accept gliders. The clerk was instructed to write to tho Telegraph Department requesting that the telephone post opposite Mr Gull's property, Anderson's Bay, bo removed several feet. Mr Cox wrote rc damage by the late flood.—Received. Mrs Grant'wrote objecting to the fenco erected (m tlio road p.t HighcliS.—The clerk was instructed to Write to Messrs D. and J.' Robertson requesting them to erect the fence over the proper boundary line. ilr WiUiaui ,!Robprtson,"iifl)o was present, asked to have tlio board's seal affixed to a plan of a road.—'The request was granted. Mr Walker was authorised ;to procure' sufficient 12-iueh pipes for Duckworth's road. Mr Riddell was authorised io employ a. mail to repair the road at Sandymount leading to Mr Hitchcock's property. It was decided to invite applications for the position v of inspector of. works, the latter to take charge of all works, applications to be cous.-ercd at next meeting of. the board. With reference to tlfe damage done by the late flood, it was generally agreed that the nnder-runners on Mr Duckworth's pro-
pertv were the cause of same. Accounts to the amount of £131 10a 3d were passed for payment. '
