MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
iThe usual : fortnightly meeting of the Central | f Mission Literary Society was fceld in the Club ! ' Rooms, Stafford street, on Monday evening, ' tlio llev. \Y. A. Sinclair occupying the chair. Mr J. J: Ramsay, vice-president, rc«l an interesting and instructive payor on " Patty i Governmenl," for which, at t.he close of the meeting, he wis' accorded a 'Jiearly vote of thanks. During the evening a duet was sung , by Misses Hodge and MacGregor. J The Olago Lodge, U.A.0.D., held their ordi- '. navy meeting on Wednesday week last, A.D. ' ' Bro. D. Gollan, jun., presiding. There was a fair i 'attendance.. The Secretary reported that Bro. ' 1 Humo had died since last .lodge meeting. It was resolved to send a letter ot* condolence to' < the relatives, and that the lodge go into mourn- '< ing. There being a vacancy in the V.A. Bard chair, Bro. Cameron was installed by P.P. i Bro. Hobbs. Four candidates were initiated. Receipts, fl2 16s. The weekly, meeting.of the Crystal Spring , Juvenile Temple was held in the Cliiral Hall on Saturday evening, J). Churchill, C.T., i presiding. There was a gpod attendance. The ' election of officers resulted as follows:—Chief templar, Bro. A. Cameron; vice-templar. Sis. K, Stuart;.chaplain; Sis. lnne's; marshal, Sis. Cluny; ' secretary, Sis. Grieve (re-ciected); financial secretary, Sis. Cameron (re-elected); treasurer, Sis. Roach (re-elected); guard, Bro. W. Cameron; sentinel, Bro. E. Cameron. The programme'was as follows:—Pianoforte solo, Sis. South; recitations, Sisters D. Churchill, L. Facey, Philip, aud Bro. E. ; dia- ! logite, Sisters Churchill and F. Facey. Mr Cooper and Bro. Wilkinson, superintendent o[ tlio Unity' Juvenile Temple, Napier, spoke. Sis. Sinclair, superintendent of the Hope oi Coversham Juvenile Temple, and Bro. Cameron, jun., of the Pioneer Lodge, responded. j
