Id. THURSDAY,'AUGUST 7. For Northern Ports of New Zealand and Australian States (except Tasmania), per north express, at 10 a.m. For Northern Ports, per Moura, al 2 p.m. NOTI3. On and after Ist Augiint a Post Office will be opened at Pool burn (Ida Valley Schoolliouse). Mails and received daily. Tho postage on letters for Australia has been j reduced lo one penny for each half-ounce or j fraction thereof. Tho public are reminded that the postage ; 011 newspapers for the United Kingdom, Queensland, and foreign'countries is Id for the first ' 4oz, and Jd for each additional 2n;; mid unless ; newspapers are fully prepaid the department cannot guarantee lo forward them by the j quickest routes. | Coronation Day, Saturday, the 9th inst., is to be observed us a partial Post Office holiday. Early morning mails will be despatched as usual, and all oilier mails usually despatched during tho day will be- closed at!) a.lll. There will be 110 delivery by letter-carriers, but the Post Office will be open for tho delivery ol letters and sale* of stamps from 8.30 to 9.30 a.m. On the BUI the Post Office will be open from 7 to 8 p.m. for sale of stamps arid delivery of letters over the counter. 7 Mails for Australian States, India, China, South Africa, Continent of Europe, and United Kingdom close al Wellington on the Bth, at noon. Mails for Hongkong direct, per Breconshire, close at "Wellington on the 9th, at 9 a.m. The Gothic will leave AVetlington for London on the 34th, via Monte Video and Tcnerifle. Correspondence for the United Kingdom to be specially addressed. Due in London September 2-1. Mails for Natal and Capetown, per Yarrawouga, will close at Sydney on September 8. K.
