SPORTING.

• HABRIEItS. j The St. .Andrew Harriers held their run on Wednesday, starting from Bunting's store at Halfway Bush. There was a good attendance of'members.' Messrs Asher and A. Clark were tlu>' hares, and laid tho trail right up over the hill past Whare Plat on to the hills overlooking l the 'i'nieri Plain, and thence homo on the other side of the hill. The run was the longest yet held. When the pack were some miles on the way the members v/cre surprised to see a boy about a mile in the rear trying to catch them.. ,' This proved to;bc a hoy left behind by one al, the runners. Thinking it lonely, he decided ho' would'like to have a run too. It wis rather mi unfortunate day for one to make bis-acquaint-ance with the harriers, inasmuch as the course I was a very rough one. -On catching up with • the .pack the boy was loudly cheered for his pluck. Ho is evidently made of.the stuff which mate good harriers. It is a pity that tho hares .did not. choose a more.open course, as scrambling through scrub and brambles and wading through bogs may be overdone. Tho sprint homo was won by Shand. There will be no run next Wednesday, as owing to Coronation Day coming next 'week there will be no holiday until Saturday.

A New Plyrnoulii telegram states that the following team has been selected -to represent Tamnitki:— Full back, Hunter; three-quarters —George, Dr Fookcs, Hardgiaves;'five-eighth, Mynott; half back, Humphries; wings—Bullock and Guy; forwards-O'Sullivan, Lovoridge, Glenn, O'D'owda, Glasgow, Thomas, and Pihania.
