The Puketapu cottiers petitioned the hoard to gravel ihe toads through the settloniont,— deferred to the County Council for favourable consideration. Messrs Gilkison and Hulton wrote in regard to the land in block X. Leaning Rock district, loeently granted to John Bourkc under oocnration lease under " The Mining Districts Land Occupation Act, 1894."—1t was- decidcd to reduce tho area to 10a Or 19p, and to fix the rent at 10a per acre. Tho Waihemo County Council wrote in,regard to a petition from, settlers in Macraes Eiding asking that unexpended - fourths'" be reallocated io tho proposed Rock and Pillar bridge, and' stated that the council could not approve of the reallocation in tho meantime,— IV.titionera to be advised accordingly. The Waihemo County Council applied to have Gravel Reserve, ccctiou 7G, block IV, Moeraki district, _ vested in the said county., An application was also received from the Palmerston Borougn Council to .have the said reserve' vested in the Borough Council and County ' Council jointly.— The board decided that as there were other local bodiea interested in the reserve they : could' not ( see their way to grant it exclusively to' tho applicants.
