PALMKRSTON NORTH, .Inly 50, The first show held under the auspices of the Manawatu Poultry Association opened to-day with over 700 entries from all parts of the colony. The collection of birds was really excellent. The following were tho principal prize-winners:—Best game bird in the show, A. Roxburgh, Otaki; Indian Game, H. .T, ?ilanpon, Palmorston North; Plymouth Rock, Hoult and Son. FcildingOrpington, W. .1. Haines, Wellington; Wyandottes, (I. Hight, Rongotea; Houdans, J. Mayo, P:ilmerston North; Aylesbury ducks, H. Pickering. Palmorston'North; Pcitiii, Iv. A. Burr, Wellington, The winner of the silver cup for mo;t points in cctain «'»*«• is not yet decided. Local bird* compared favourably with those sent from other piaws. A dinner was held to-night, at wlu'eh the judges and visiting exhibitors were eutertuimd by the association.
