TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—A correspondent from St. Bitbans has accused Mr Burnett of taking no interest in school affairs {rlien a resident of that district. I think it is only fair to Mr Burnett that I should state thai I first met him in Blankstons Hill about 21 years ago at a school concert, of which he was cliairman, and tlmt on that occasion lie delivered a very happy littlo speech concerning the advantages to be derived from such social gatherings of neighbours, and the necessity for taking an interest in the welfaro of our country schools.
