(Pas United Press Assooiation.) WELLINGTON, July £9. A largo deputation of persons interested in educational matters waited upon the ; Minister of Education, and urged the desirability' of introducing a superannuation snliemo for school teachers. Air Smeaton, of the Otago Educational Institute, explained the provisions of a draft bill for giving effect to a Superannuation Fund for toschers, which provides for payment at tho rate of 2i per cent, on a salary by teachers of 20 to 30 years .of age to 5 per cent, by those between 50 and 60. Tho Hon. W. O. Walker, in reply, said if upon investigation he found, that tho soliome could be put on a successful financial basis ho would have great pleasure in submitting it to his colleagues. Personally ho had evory sympathy with t!ic object of the deputation. He would bo glad if something could be done this.year.
