TUAPEKA POULTRY SHOW.

(Br Our SrEcui, Reporter.) LAWRENCE, July 25. The sixteenth annual show of the Tuapeka Poultry Society was opened in the Volunteer Hall, Lawrence, this afternoon. The entries wore considerably in excess of those of last year, there being about 30 more poultry antl 40 more pigeons. There was an improvement ill the quality in some classes and a falling off in others. Mr B. Hart was the principal prize-taker in Black-red Game, D. L. Christie gaining second honours. In Pile the positions of these two competitors were reversed, though Mr Hart was only a small exhibitor. In Indian Game, V. B. Line won everything unopposed. J. Taylor secured most prizes in Plvmouth Bocks: and in Spanish (a very small class) E. F. Sullivan, the only exhibitor, took two firsts and a third. There was more competition in Minorcas. G. Leslie being first for cock,. A. and G. Grant first for hen. and A. E, Wildo first for cockerel and pullet. Andalusians were fairly represented, the chief priie-takers bfing J. Egglestone and R. B. Wright, the latter seeming first for hen, cockerel, and pullet. Leghorns and Langshans were both small classes. In the former James M'Eav, J. P. Roberts, D. Loekhnrt, and A. M. Eyes tool: firsts, and in the latter Roberts was the only first prizetaker. Orpingtons was one of the largest elasws in the show, Edwin RcilV taking firsts for black cock, lion, and cockerel" De Beer Bros, first for pullet; W. J. Morton fir?t for buff cock and lien: J. Tavlor first fm- huff cockerel and pullet. In Dorkings W. 71!oy was the chief prize-taker. A. an<f P. Grant, Ti. Hart, A. Burnett, and A. E. Wilde took the chief honours in Wvandottcs and N. 0. Potts and B. Hart in came bantimsi J. Tavlor, the onlv exhibitor in Hamburgs, taking two firsts. The chief prize-takers in pigeons were J. Murdock, M Carruthors, H. W. Hilton, and V. B. Linethc first-named taking six firsts.
