The quarterly returns of attendance for the period ended June 30, which have hec-u compiled by the secretary of the Education Board, show hat there wero 217 schools i operation ,„ the district, employing 189 male a 335 female eachers. During the.quarter the Kaikorai School wp reopened, and new schools at Horse Plat and Tapui wero opened.
