LONDON, July 11. (Received July 11, at 10.10 p.m.) At tho instance of tho authorities of Oxford University a conferences took place at the Colonial Office between thorn and Sir E. Barton and representawesofthe Sydney, Tnsmaniaii, ami New Zealand Universities. Mi' W. P. Reeves represented New .Zoah'md. Adelaide, and Melbourne Universities' were unrepresented. Oxford desires to establish a closer conuection with colonial universities, and as far as possible pay attention to students destined for professions or higher rank civil servants and holders of Rhodes scholarships.
