Duly Times Office, Tuesday evening. Tha. amount of revenue collected at the Dunedin Custom House to-day on goods cleared for consumption £2398 163. Tilo Customs returns for tlio quarter ending Juno 30 last are as follows:—Customs duties, £89,563' lis 3d; beer duty, £5959 63 4d; gold' exported, 43,4020z (value, £175,113). For tho corresponding quarter of the-previous year the figures wero: Cus- • tonis duties, £89,965,10 a 3d: beer duty, £6236'5s'Gd ; gold exported, 29,93?0z (value, £120,598). This shows. a decrease of about £♦00 on goods cleared for consumption, a doereaso of about £300 in tho. boor duty, and an increase in tho gold export of about 1(,OOOqz.. For tho half-year ending June 30 of tbis. year the Customs duties were £194,845 2s Bd, the beov duty wa9 £12,651 8s 7d, and the gold exported 679770z (value £274,178). For the corresponding half-year of .last year the Customs duties .were £201,939 6s 3d, the beer duty £12,589 6s, and flip gold exported was 67,88807, (value £274,337). From these figures it will be seon that there is'a decrease of about £7000 in Customs duties, an increase of of apout £70 in the beer duty, while the gold export lias' gone up by about SOoz.

SALE OF A CLYDESDALE ENTIRE COLT.

Messrs Wright; Stephenson, and Co. repoit having sold privately, on account of Mr Alex. Bannatyne, Matanaka, -Wuikouaiti, his black Clydesdale entire colt, by M'Callum, to Mr Alexander Robertson, of Waipahi, at a very satisfactory figure. The colt is rising 3yrs. Site ll'Cailum, dam by Ben Lomond. M'Callum was bred by tho late John Russell, out of his famous mare Princcss IPCorjuick, Princess M'Cormick was out of Maggie M'Cormick by Young Prinea of Wales. M'Callum's sire, Lcrd Lyon (489 C.5.8.), by Lord Salisbury (imp., 1207.C.5.8.). Lord Lyon's dam Myrtle; g.-dam Molly M'Kissock (imp.), by, Lord Lyon (H. 5.8,); g-g-dam, Tibby, by Glen. Lee. Molly M'Kissock was imported from Scotland by the lata D. M'Callum, having securcd first honours at Ayr and Dumfries a? a two-year-old, but was never afterwards shown. Lord Lyon gained first and champiop at Gove and Tnpanui .111 1891, first r,nd' champion at Dunedin in 1692, first and champion at Tapanui, Gore, and Invercargill in 1893, and first and champion at Oamaru in 1895. M'Callum gained the following prizes:—As a thrce-ycar-old, first at Mataura, first at- Wyndhain, and first at Invercargill in 1894.. and first at the Western A. and P.- Association's show in 1895, and was never afterwards shown. Bon Lomond's sire, Young.Vanquisher (imported from Scotland by the late David Ncsbit), was bral by the late Peter Anderson, Stranraer, Scotland, out of llis „ famous mare Sally, by' Lochfergus Champion: g-siro Blair's Champion. Ben Lomond's dam, Maggie Lauder (imp.), was by Lord Lyon (imp.), g-sire Ben Lomond (imp.). It will theTeforo bo seen that, the colt will be a decided acquisition to tho Wainahi and surrounding distriots.

CLEARING SALE.

1 Otago, Farmers' Co-operative Association of New Zealand (Limited) report having held a clearing sale at Pine Hill yesterday on behalf ■of Mr Gr. Atkinson, vrho is giving up dairying. The day turned out very cold, and tho attendance was rather a poor one. Competition, however, for good cows was fairly keen, and the whole of tho herd were placed at tho UDdcr-hoted prices. Horses also sold fairly well,' and tlio sundries realised values. Best cows, £5 to £0 12s Gd; others, £2 10s to £1.155; horses, up to £21.
