Tlio barqucntino Trinidad, from Auckland to New York, has taken refuge at Barbados in a partially dismasted condition. She has lost her fore and main topmasts and her sails. The .Trinidad, which is a wooden vessel of 690 tons, was built in 1891, and ia owned by Mr H. H. Greene, of Kempt, Nova Scotia. She left Auckland for New York on March 26.

The plant consists of a 35-ton Amerioan compressor of tile Lindo type, tho boilers attached to • which are two of the multitubular type, and each of 50 horsepower. Tho refrigerated space is 40,000 square feet, and in addition to this space the machinery is capable of making largo quantities of ice. The buildings are of brick, and the ihsitlalibn is charcoal. They will be ready for opening on the Ist of Sep. tember neit. /
