A ploasnnt ceremony took place on Tuesday afternoon at the railway store? offices, Hillside when Mr W . 0. Kempthorne, store clerk. who .is le-iving the department to tako up a position with Messrs Wright, Stephenson, end Co,, of tins city, was presented by his friends in the semec with a rosewood writing desk as a token o! the esteem in which he is hold by them. Mr Williams, railway storekeeper, in making tho presentation, referred to the pleasant, relations that had ahvnvs existed in ".marked dejwo between Mr Kempthonio and Ins fellow-ofhcers. Mr Kempthorno suitably replied.
