The list of successful tenderers for tho equipment of (ho ninth contingent-lias been made public, and shows that the contractsare distributed amongst numerous firms in the lour principal centres of the colony. The Defeneo Department called for tenders for tho supply; of IEOO pairs of hoots for the ninth contingent, and Mr Kobcrt Collier, of George ttreer, is the successful contractor for 600 pairs. The remainder lias been equally divided between two other firms, one being a Ohrietehureh firm.
