The accounts for the Canterbury and Hawke's Bay matches,, ae presented by the secretary, wcro passed fnr payment. Mr 1 liompon reported that tho behaviour of the learn during the visit to Christchurch was excellent, Mr Hi-rmnn, the proprietor of ttarm-rn Hotel, having expressed himself Mitirely satisfied with the gentlemanly conduct of the whole of the team.
It was unanimously resolved that n trophy be awarded •to any Otogo player making a century in interprovincial contests, and that tho first of these trophies bo awarded to Mr Baiter for his performance in tho match against Hawke's T!ay. The question of suitably rewarding Mr Downes's past services to Otngn having been mentioned, the committee were of opinion that tho matter did not come within the province of the association, but if the press thought fit to bring the matter before the the committee, as individuals, would be quite willing to nihscribe. The committee were of the opinion that the proper time to recognise Mr Downes's nervices to pricket, and also to football, would be when ho retired from the game, and they felt satisfied if it were left till then tho pnbiin would rally round this popular player, and a substantial testimonial would lie the result.
The secretary was instructed to write to the Southland Association ro fixing the date of the annual match.

The match Carisbrook A v. Carisbrook U, at Carisbrook this afternoon, should prove a very interesting tussle, These two teams hold the positions of premier and runner-up in the Senior Cup contest, and both will bo playing with their full strength, α-s will appear by the teams published above. It is an ill wind that blows nobody good, and the continual postponement of matches on aoeount of the wet weather and holidays makes this rceult possible, whilo it would not have been so if tho match he<l been played before.
