LONDON, January 9. (Received Jan. 10, at 0.28 a.m.) The Czar's offer to build Prince George of Greece a palace at Canea is interpreted to point to tlie early independence of Crete.

Tim Hoetion was for three years, but nt the end of 1901 Prince fioorge was reappointrd for another three years.
