Three months' bills are discounted at 3} per cent. Consols are quoted at £03 17s Cd. Quotations for colonial Government stocks are suujoined, compared with those ruling at the close of last week: —
The wheat market is firm, but inactive owing to the holidays. Cargoes are firmly held. South Australian'(November shipment), 30s Gd; Victorian (Janu-ary-February shipments), 30s Old. Sugar is quiet. German, 6s"Gd; first marks, 8s 4*d. Butter is improving in demand, Colonial is firm; choicest, 104s to 100s (brisk trade); secondary, about Otis. The Paparou's cargo was in excellent condition. Danish is dull (unchanged). Cheese is hardening. New Zealand, 495. Copper: Spot, £49 2s fid; three months, £4!) 15s. Supplies, 20,169 tons; deliveries, 18,088 tons: stocks, 22,051 tons; advised from Australia, 3300 tons. Tin: Spot, £108 ss; three months, £lWi ss. Lead, £10 4s. Spelter, £16 12s 6d. Silver is quoted at 2s ljd. The Bradford wool market is quiet. Common sixties, 19d; super sixties, 20d. '
