CAVERSHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting of the Cavershatn Council, held last evening, was attended by the Jlnyor (Mr T. K. Sidev), and Crs J. Wilson, Searle, Stevenson, Ruston, Bridgman, Puddy, M'Pherson, Bridger, I!. Wilson, and Rutherford.
The Finance Committee reported that f330 ISs Id had been lodged in bank since last meeting and rccommende:! that £62 fls iid general account, £7 2s 7d water supplv account, and .<•22 Is Gd sanitary account be nasscd for payment—Adopted. The Drains, Water, and Sanitarv CommitIce reported having decided tc lay drainage pipes in Arthur street, provided the owners found the pipes.—The clerk was requested to prepare 11 str,lenient showing the probable sanitary work, and the inspector was rcqurst-ed to report 011 the cost of repairing, channelling, and kerbiug Peter street.—Adopted. A letter wits rcecivojl Irom the Colonial Secretary notifying that lie was not prepared to advise tho Govcrnor-in-Couneil to grant tho council's request to construct streets of a less width than 60ft.—Received. The Secretary to the Ocean Beach Domain Board wrote that the board had found it necessary* to increase the churfo for receiving nightsoii 011 the Occan Uracil Domain to Ds per box instead of 5s Od.-Rcceived.
The Secretary to tho Ocean Beach Domain Board wrote re the action Tomahawk Road Loaid v. the Ocean Beach Domain Board, stating that the. board was without funds to pay costs in the above, action. As the depot iras carried on entirely for the b-neflt of tho boiouglis depositing njghtsoil, tho board trusted tlint t.ie expense, of defending the action would he borne by tliem.—Received. Consideration deferred.
