A second lesolntion was adopted advocating the appointment of a Royal Commission to inquire into the sugar •industry in Queensland and the employment of black labour. (Received May 15. at 9.10 p.m.) At the Cliambeis of Commerce Conference llie Queensland lipie-ctifalive, discussing the sugar industry, said it was impossible to cany on without Polynesian .. labour. The loss of the industry, in which s between six and seven millions were illvested, would make Queensland bankrupt. s A resolution wis adopted urging Mr Barton to make the federal taiitr one of the lii«t questions to be eonsideied. The conference has closed.
