Tho secretary was instructed to inform the Waikouaiti, Karitaue, Palmerston, Harapdefi; and tKakanui Clubs that, while the bylaws would.riot admit of their baing received into the union at a reduced subscription, the committee would be prepared, in the event of their becoming affiliated, to encourage football on the Eset Coast by offering a flag for competition or by some other method. The question qf so arranging the flag matches' as to afford the University Club a.byo on tho first.Saturday was referred to the Mag-'Committee,'., it being suggested that a satisfactory solution of the difficulty might, bo secured by fixing a match for the 25th May botween the '-University find theother club receiving tho bye, that club not tb'be one with a fixture on tho 24th May;
