TO TIIE BDITOS. Sib,—l,see in your Tcport of the meeting of tho Otago Rugby Union that one of tho delegates had-the courage to object to the .practice—a practice l almost universal—of holding meetings of athletic societies iu hotels.
I beg to congratulate Mr Cameron on his action. Surclv in a city like Dunedin room! can be rented away from the temptations afforded by tho close proximity of the bar. ; Tho danger is a very real one, and I, as woll as many i> sorrowing parent, can point to many a fino young fellow whose first step downwards was, taken as a result of attending meetings held in hotels, and I believe that Mr Cameron will have the support of many of those who have'to attend these meetings.— I am, etc, Ex-Athlete.
