Mt Rcid has received a telegram from Perth stating that six Freetraders have been elected to the Senate, and four Freetraders and one Protectionist to the House. Mr Barton expects to carry the remaining six Victorian seats in tile Lower Souse, and thinks that tho final returns will improve his position in New South Wales. A storm in the country districts is preventing the rest of tho Victorian returns from coming to hand. Mr G. H. Eeid has expressed satisfaction at the way in which the Freetrade party in New South Wales havo stuck together. It is believed that at least five of the Senate seats in New-South-Wales will be captured by Freetraders. The elections have caused' but little excitement iu Tasmania and Westralia,
