• « (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 15. Mr Charles Pharazyn has communicated to the City Council offering to increase bis donation to the Victorian College to £2000 if. the question is deal with to his satisfaction. He adds that a friend of his is willing to contribute £1000, and suggests the sale of the Kelburne Park reserve as a site for the college, and the purchase of a Eection of land near the Botanical Gardens for the Kelburne Park. The Mayoi, speaking to the City Council, said they were all much indebted for the offer, but he thought that the question of the university was one purely for the Government to undertake. Mr Pharazyn's/ offer would be better if he made it conditional On the Government finding the site. He (the mayor) was opposed to selling Kelburne Park. Ultimately the matter .was referred to the Beserves Committee.
